Hurricane Time
Hello Everyone,
Cuba is great, we got all our household goods and the house is finally set up... I guess we got it set up just in time for the hurricane that is suppose to hit us tonight, but they say that our house is hurricane proof, and with the wind storms that we had in Washington I really don't think this is going to be much different then those. We have lots of candles, flashlights, food and water to get us through the next couple of days, especially if the power goes out. Our friends that live a few houses down from us have a grill, (we haven't bought one yet) so if we need we can always cook food at their house.
Jon left for work this morning and I am hoping that he will be able to come home tonight, but depending on the storm he may not be able to come home until we get the all clear. They have closed down all the beaches yesterday, of course I had to go and check them out, the waves were about 2-3 feet high, but very disappointing. Alex had school today, but I am guessing they will be off tomorrow, the main part of the storm is suppose to hit around 4pm today and last until about midnight Thursday night. The worst part is we don't get the weather channel with our cable, and the Caribbean weather channel guy does the weather with a stuffed parrot, and they don't do the weather to often...
Well in case anyone ever wants to send us anything our address is
PSC 1005 BOX 60
FPO, AE 09593
Please make sure to clearly mark our full names on them, as they get delivered to Jon's command and then distributed from there... Our mail takes appx 3-4 weeks to get here, as it goes to the federal post office in New Jersey, then makes it's way to Jacksonville and then to Cuba, we only get mail Monday, Wednesday and Fridays....
So to call us.... our phone number is 011-53-99-78810, being that it will cost you appx $2.00 a minute to call us
I will keep you all update on the storm, but right now it is just raining... as soon as I figure out how to post pictures on the blog I will post pictures of our house...
Talk to you all soon
Love ya
Alison

My New Blog...
I decided that I would create this blog to make it easier for all of our friends and family to keep up with all the happenings while we are stationed in Cuba. I can't wait for our family to start this adventure and to be able to share it with you all.
